Honoring the Past, Supporting the Future

Mrs. Ruth Hill, affectionately known as “Granny,” had a lifelong love of golf. Well into her late 70s, she played three times a week, enjoyed a “Bud” at the turn, and always had a joke ready. Her smile brought joy, and her grace touched everyone who knew her. Even on her 75th birthday, when the weather was so cold she had to wait for the greens to thaw, Granny was determined to play 75 holes. She would not let a little cold spoil her day.

Established in 1995, this scholarship honors Granny’s contributions to golf while providing educational support to deserving young Piney Point members. After her passing, it was renamed the Granny Hill Memorial Scholarship. Since then, 45 scholarships have been awarded to deserving young men and women, carrying forward Granny Hill’s legacy of great play and bright futures.

The scholarship will be awarded in May each year.
